We had a fun visit with Beth, Barry and Joey. Will seemed to have fun playing with Joey and liked to watch Joey play. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the house and letting the boys play. We even set up Will's little pool and the boys got to swim for a few minutes on Saturday evening. Will wasn't too sure about the pool. I don't think he could understand why the water wasn't as warm as it is in the bathtub. He splashed around a little, but didn't stay in very long.
Barry planted some tomato plants for us in the backyard. I am very excited about my "garden." Will liked watching Uncle Barry and Daddy plant the tomatoes and water them.
One of the sweetest parts of the weekend was when Joey "read" a book to Will. Joey read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? to Will. It was so cute to listen to Joey read it to Will and watch Will listen to Joey and look at the book.
Will is no longer eating babyfood! Last Monday and Tuesday he really didn't want to eat off of the spoon since he had the tooth coming in. After the tooth popped through, I decided to try not to start him back on the babyfood since he is getting to the point that he can eat "real" food. Since then, he has done really well feeding himself and is trying lots of different foods. His first real meal that didn't include babyfood was on Wednesday evening. He ate some ground beef, cheese, and grapes. It seems much easier now to feed him and to go out to eat. It is weird to not take along babyfood and to just feed him off of our plates. We have discovered that our boy loves to eat french fries!
Will has been a little fussy and whiny the past few days. I am not sure if it is because his schedule was a little different since we had company or if he has another tooth coming in. He woke up Thursday and Friday nights, but thankfully he slept through the night last night. He seemed to perk up a little bit this afternoon and is acting more like himself. He is always so happy and easy-going that I don't know what to do when he is fussy. Burt and I also realized this evening that we think that part of the problem is that Will is starting to realize what he wants and does not want and can't communicate his wishes to us. So, we are starting to increase the use of the sign language and hope that it will make it easier for him to let us know what he needs.
