32 Weeks Old

Our big boy is already 32 weeks old! He has had quite a week. It seems like Will has learned to do so much in such a short amount of time. He is now pulling up on everything (the coffee table, his crib, the couch, his pack and play). He can stand on his own for a few seconds and will cruise around the coffee table while holding on. As you can see from the above picture, William has started sucking his thumb again. He still loves his binkie, but every now and then he will start sucking his thumb. He was a thumb sucker when he was a newborn, but hasn't done it in months. I think he looks so cute!
Will has also figured out that there are fun things to explore outside of the room that he is in. That has led him to learn to crawl up the two steps that lead from our living room to the hall on one side or the kitchen on the other side. He was able to do it on Thursday with a boost from Burt, but now can manage to make it up the steps all on his own. The problem is that he thinks he can crawl back down the steps! So, we have to move him back down if he manages to sneak up the steps. Last Friday Will and I were in his room. He was playing on the floor while I packed his diaper bag so we could run some errands. He suddenly seemed to realize that he didn't have to stay in the room. He took off crawling across his room, across the hall and went into Burt and my bedroom. I think he just wanted to explore the rest of the house!
William loves for us to make animal sounds. His current favorites are monkey, owl and pig. He tried to make the pig sound back to me on Friday. When we do the sounds he giggles and gets very excited.
William is still very loving. He gives me a big hug and kiss when I get him out of his crib after nap time or when I get home from work. When he gives kisses now he will often blow on our face. I think he might be trying to make the "smooching" sound.
We are starting to give Will some finger food so he can practice feeding himself. We have given him little pieces of bananas for him to eat and he likes Cheerios and the baby food "puffs" in banana and sweet potato flavors. He had been trying very hard to feed himself, but couldn't quite figure out how to pick up the food and put it in his mouth. Last night he almost got it figured out at dinnertime and this morning at breakfast he managed to get a Cheerio in his mouth, but it fell out before he could eat it. At lunchtime today, he did it! He was able to eat a couple of Cheerios on his own. Later this afternoon, we were having "snack time" and he ate several "puffs" on his own. I can't believe how big he is getting!
Here is a picture of Will playing in his flannel shirt.

Will before church on Sunday morning.

You can see his teeth in this picture!

Right as I started to take his picture, he started crawling toward me and I got this cute shot!

Yep, I've gotta admit I am definitely partial to thumb-suckers! Who cares what the dentist says???!

I can't believe he's doing all of these things. He sounds like he's so much fun to be around lately. :)

I am a huge fan of thumb sucking also! He's perfect (just like you and Karl)!
