Gammy & Papa's Visit

Gammy and Papa came to visit last weekend. We had a great time hanging out with them. Unfortunately, though, we got some sad news while they were here. On Sunday evening we got a call from Ohio telling us that my Uncle Richard had passed away. So, mom and dad left on Monday morning to head back home to be with the family. Please remember my Aunt Betty and the rest of the family in your prayers.
While they were here, we had a wonderful time hanging out with them. Will warmed up very quickly to them and loved playing with them. It was so much fun to watch him play with his Gammy and Papa. He loved taking walks around the yard with Papa and reading and playing with all of his toys with Gammy. He actually picked up a book and "read" it to Gammy. When we went into his room for the first time with them, Will held up all of his toys one at a time and would jabber to my mom and dad about them. It was like he was telling them all about his toys. He did the same thing with his tub toys.
Will was sure to show his Gammy and Papa all of his tricks. He showed them how he could crawl up the steps, climb on the hearth, spit and chase the cat! Of course they thought that everything he did was wonderful!
While they were visiting, Will started taking more steps. He was taking two or three steps at a time by the time they left and was almost able to stand on his own without using something to pull up.
One of the cutest parts of the weekend was that Will is starting to say more words and use them correctly. I walked into the room where he was playing on Saturday morning and Will looked at me and said "hi." Then, he was playing with my mom and he bumped his face. He looked up at her and said "Ow." It seems so strange to hear Will say real words and use them the right way!
