I can't believe that John turned one week old on Monday. The time is flying by. We are all doing well. Will has done amazingly well with the transition from only child to big brother. The first couple of days that we were home, Will didn't pay much attention to John. The past few days he has started to show more interest in him. Now, Will likes to sit with whoever is holding John. He also likes to pat John or give him a hug or kiss. It is very sweet to watch them together. Will does not seem to be bothered by any of us holding or taking care of John. The only exception to this has been Miss Anna, his babysitter. She came over on Monday with her parents. When Anna's mom handed JJ to Anna, Will did not like it at all. He got Anna's hand, tried to pull her up and said "walk." He also pointed to her mom as if to tell Anna to give the baby back to her. Once Anna stood up, Will wanted her to walk out of the room and play with him. I think he thinks that Anna comes to just play with him and he won't share her.
JJ is getting along very well. He is eating between 3 and 4 ounces of formula every 3 or 3 1/2 hours. He sleeps well and rarely cries. He is a very easy baby to take care of!
John is starting to like his bath more every day. I am getting better at timing it so that he is not hungry or tired when I bathe him. He loves to get his hair washed and brushed. He loves to be cuddled and held. He is also starting to make more "cooing" sounds. It is so nice to have a baby in the house again.
It is very nice to have my parents here to help take care of Will. Since I had a c-section, I am not able to lift Will. They are taking care of Will while Burt is at work and also helping to take care of John. I have even been able to take a nap every day! My dad has to return to Ohio to work for a couple of weeks. He is leaving on Saturday. My mom is going to stay for two more weeks and then my dad will return to get her.
We took our first outing on Monday. My parents and I took the boys to Walmart to have John's one week pictures taken. We also had a couple of pictures taken of Will and John together together and a some of Will alone. They boys both did very well! I can't imagine taking them both to the store alone, though. I think it will be a while before I am brave enough to try that.
Will is doing great. He loves to play outside with Papa or Daddy. The other evening he was playing out with Burt and thought that Burt could throw his beachball high enough to touch the moon! He still loves to play ball (of course!) and has introduced my parents to "Imagination Movers." I think they have seen every show on our DVR several times.
Here are a few pictures from the past few days. I also put a link on the left to some of the current pictures. Enjoy!

He looks so cuddly in these pictures! And I am so glad to hear that Will (so far) is handling the adjustment well.
I saw the photos on Facebook earlier but just read the commentary to go with them. But what made me laugh was the story about Will and Anna. I remember my very first guest who came to see Darcy at the house after she was born, and Tyler (two at the time) started jumping on the bed, getting in my and my visitor's face and generally making a nuisance of himself. Later I remarked on his behavior to my mom and she said, "He just realized he's not the center of your universe anymore!" But fortunately, like Will, he turned out to be pretty fond of his new baby sister!
Glad J.J. is an easy baby--it is obvious from his pictures!
