"One"

Will has become quite the little negotiator. If he wants something and you tell him no, he will hold up his pointer finger and very sweetly say "one?" I guess that he thinks we are more likely to say yes if we are only giving him one of whatever he wants. Some examples: He will ask to watch "Moobers." This is his way of saying "Imagination Movers" which is his current favorite cartoon. We will tell him not now, he was watched enough and he will say "One?" We went to Conway over Spring Break and took Will to the pet store to see the animals. His favorite was the birds. He asked for "one." Today we were playing outside and I was showing him how the wind was blowing the leaves in the trees. He looked up at me and said "one." I asked him "one what?" His answer..."Tree." Try explaining to a 21 month old why you can't get them a tree!
He has also learned to say "Will." It is very cute to hear him say it. He will point to himself in a picture and say "Will" or if you ask him what his name is he will answer. The other day I was in the back of the house and he was in the living room. I heard him saying "Momma, Dada, Will." He came walking in carrying a picture of the three of us. It was so sweet!
Will still loves to play outside. We played out for an hour and a half this morning! He loves to play ball, of course, but he also likes to do other things. Some of his current favorites are playing with sidewalk chalk and playing in his sandbox. He loves to have us draw pictures or write with the chalk. He will point to the cement patio and say "sit." Then he will tell us what he wants us to draw or write. Sometimes he wants us to write words such as "basketball, football, soccer ball" (you see the trend here!) or "Momma, Dada." He also likes for us to draw shapes. His favorites are "heart, star, triangle, square and circle."
Here are a couple of recent pictures. Enjoy!
This is what I found after I decided that I had time to really quickly throw in a load of laundry! I have learned to worry when things are too quiet in the living room!
