JJ turned 13 months old on April 30th. This has been a big month for him! On March 31, we started mixing whole milk with his formula in his bottle. He really liked it! By the next day, he was drinking all whole milk.
John had his one year check-up and immunizations on April 16th. He did really well getting his shots. Of course he cried for a few minutes, but a sucker made him feel better and he didn't seem to have any trouble afterwards. He weighed 25 lbs and was 30 1/2 inches tall!
This month John started talking quite a bit more. He learned to say "cow" for his stuffed cow, said "quack-quack" when playing with a duck in the tub, and also said "all done, catch, shoe, thanks." He loves to get his shoes when it is time to go outside. If we ask him, he will go get his shoes and bring them to us to put them on for him. He also plays a game with Daddy and Will. One of them will pretend to sneeze or just say "Achoo" and John will say "Achoo!" Will likes to play that game with him while we are driving in the van.
John is becoming quite the little climber. He figured out how to climb up on Will's bed all by himself on the 30th! Mama Jan and Papa Gary came to visit us for a few days this month. John really enjoyed playing with them, especially outside.
John takes one nap most days. Occasionally he will take two shorter naps. He is sleeping pretty well most nights. He still wakes up once a night about half of the time for a bottle. He is still very sweet and cuddly!
Here are some pictures from the month.
