16 Months Old

Our sweet boy turned 16 months old on Sunday. He is growing so fast! He still loves to play outside. He is now able to run and does it a lot. He loves to run down our hall and, of course, when he is playing outside. He has even started running around the living room. He started that on Saturday while he was watching a football game with Burt. At one point he had his juice cup tucked under his arm and was running around the chair. I couldn't help but wonder if he was trying to run like the football players on tv. Will has also started to stand on his tip-toes. Sometimes when he is playing he will go from normal standing to his tip-toes and back again. It is funny to watch.
When we play inside or out, Will loves to play with balls. He also likes to play with cars and blocks. He has actually started to occasionally stack the blocks! He can stack three or four up on his own. Will loves music and dancing. He has a toy that plays "If You're Happy and You Know It." He will clap his hands and stomp his feet when the song plays or we sing it for him. He also likes for us to sing "The Alphabet Song", "Twinkle, Twinkle", and "Itsy-Bitsy Spider." He is starting to try to make the hand movements along with us for "Itsy-Bitsy Spider." He will clap his hands and says something that I think means again when we finish singing a song. Some days I feel like I am giving a concert all day long!
The other day, I was talking on the phone to my mom. When we were ending the conversation, she said to tell Will and Burt hi from her and my dad. So, I hung up the phone and told Will that Gammy and Papa said hi. He started waving and said "hello." Of course, I had to call my mom back to tell her. He will also hold our cordless phone or a pretend phone up to his ear and say "hello."
We are trying to get Will prepared, as much as you can prepare a toddler, for the arrival of his brother or sister in a few months. So, occasionally, I will say something about the baby in my stomach. A couple of weeks ago, I told him there was a baby in my stomach and asked him to hug the baby. Will, very sweetly, leaned down to hug my stomach. Last night, I asked Will where the baby was and he started patting my stomach. So, hopefully by the time the baby is born he will sort of understand what is going on. Speaking of the pregnancy, all is going well. I am 16 weeks along today. I am feeling good overall. The sickness is gone and I am starting to get a little more energy. I have my next appointment and the ultrasound to see if the baby is a girl or a boy next week (Wednesday, October 29th). Stay tuned for the big news!
Here are a few pictures of our sweet boy. The first is Will playing with his "Musical Stage" toy that plays songs.

On our porch with the pumpkins. The little tiny pumpkin is for the baby and the bigger pumpkin is for Will.

He was hugging his cabbage patch kid today and even had Anna (babysitter) hug him.
