We had an unplanned trip to the doctor on Saturday morning. Will started pulling at his ear on Friday, but wasn't crying or acting sick, so I didn't think too much about it. He has always rubbed and played with his ears a lot. Then, on Friday evening he started running a fever. He was fevered all night and was very lethargic Saturday morning. Thankfully, his doctor has Saturday morning hours and we were able to take him in. He did, in fact, have an ear infection. He was pretty sleepy and didn't do much all day on Saturday. He seemed to perk up quite a bit yesterday and is doing well today. He isn't running a fever anymore and has most of his energy back. He is doing great taking the medicine. He opens his mouth and lets us squirt it in and doesn't fight it at all.
The newest thing that Will likes is to have ice in his sippy cup. He will shake the cup and hear the ice rattle and say "ice." I think he thinks he is a big boy when he has the ice. He loves to drink apple juice, or "appie" as he calls it.
Will is having lots of fun playing with his new toys from Christmas. He got a Handy Manny tool set from Gammy and Papa Turner. When we watch Handy Manny on tv, he will get his tool set to play with while we watch the show. His favorite tool is Pat the Hammer. He has also started to like to color a lot. He loves to carry his crayons around and color in his coloring books. His favorite coloring book is a big "Cars" coloring book that Burt found for him in Virginia. He also still likes to color outside with sidewalk chalk. His favorite color is blue. He will hold up things that are blue (and some things that aren't) and say "blue."
While we were in Ohio, Will started calling my mom, "Mammy." So, I guess they are now Mammy and Papa Turner. The other night I asked him to say Gammy and he said "Mammy." He stopped and you could tell he was thinking about something, then he said "Papa." I guess he realizes that they go together! He has started to talk to my mom on the phone some. He will listen to her talk and will say a few words to her. It is very cute to listen to their "conversation."
While we were visiting Mammy and Papa, Will also found his belly button. I was out with my friend Brook when they taught him where it was. They said that Will would bend over so far his head would almost touch the floor trying to see his belly button. The more he would bend, the more his stomach would stick out and hide it. I will have to try to get a picture of him looking for it and post it soon. He also started "smiling" when you ask him to. That is what he is doing in the picture at the top of the page. He makes this very funny face when you ask him to smile. Sometimes he even scrunches up his face more than he is in this picture.
