6 Months Old

William turned 26 weeks old on Tuesday and 6 months old on Wednesday. We spent Tuesday traveling from Nashville (where Burt's sister, brother-in-law and nephew live) to Virginia to see Burt's parents. Will is doing well with all of the traveling, but is still battling a cold and of course is dealing with getting his tooth. He has maintained a pretty good schedule and is eating like a champ. Grandma Jan couldn't get over how much he loves to eat his baby food! On the way to Burt's parents' house, we stopped to introduce Will to his great-grandma Revonda.
Will is drinking from a sippy cup a little now. He had water on Saturday and tried apple juice on Thursday. He seems to like it. If nothing else, he likes to play with the cup.
He is still trying very hard to crawl. He is able to lunge forward a little bit now, but is still better at scooting backwards. He is also trying to go from laying on his tummy to sitting up. He can almost do it, but still needs to get better with his balance.
We celebrated Will's half birthday on Wednesday with a cookie cake decorated with a reindeer. Of course, he wasn't able to eat any, but the rest of us enjoyed eating it and singing happy birthday to him!
While in Virginia, William has been introduced to two of his great-uncles (Burt's Dad's brothers) and their families. He met Uncle David, Aunt Hilda and Cousin Lindsay on Thursday and Uncle Troy, Aunt Reedy and Cousin Matthew on Friday. On Sunday, we are going to a dinner with all of Burt's mom's family, so he will get to meet a bunch of new people. We will leave for Ohio on Monday morning.
William got to meet and have his picture taken with Santa on Friday. He did so well. I thought he might be afraid, but he was very interested in Santa and his beard. He even gave it a little tug! We will try to scan in the picture at some point, but it might be after we get back home.
I am amazed at how fast the first six months with William have gone. I can't believe all that he has learned in such a short time. It has been so much fun celebrating the holidays with William already and Christmas isn't even here ye! Here are a few pictures from the past few days.
